I hope yall got a good reason. I think this new rule is a bunch of shit. Whats so freakin special about Filesonic and Orion? Did yall get an endorsement by them or something.

I should be able to post a link in my own website if i want to.

I have no problem with mirriors, but if they have filesonic or Orion, they should make them mirrior to hotfile and depositefile and Rapidshare.

I dont trust that Orion, alot of foreigners use that, and i aint tryin to send my money overseas.

Oron and Filesonic sucks so much, they destroy the sense of filesharing. Before they come up i never saw such rules in any forum. This is the fifth board now where you HAVE TO post a mirror to one of this fuckin hosts...

I hate these hosters so much, 90% of the posters using one of them posting only crap and spam the boards...

Well said Guntersachen but it doesn't matter what we say UA Teens will not listen - this can only be a financial motivated rule and in my opinion a poor one in the long term. Up until now this has been a good board with lots of original content but by restricting downloads to rubbish hosts like filesonic and oron (filesonic in particular has a dreadful reputation and it amazes me that you guys at UATeens aren't aware of how poorly those who download stuff rate filesonic!) - this board will go downhill.

I wont be pushed into using filesonic or oron and neither should anyone else, plenty of other less short sighted boards around so why worry!

I agree with rossitter and Guntersachen, even if this development is not really surprising me.
Running a board costs money, formerly there were ads from paysites (which normally leads to ban of that content), now filehosters are sponsoring the boards (which leads to a required mirror to those hosters).

I definitely don't agree with the business model of oron or FS, but on the other hand it might be a good development for downloaders: you just visit those boards who require mirrors where you have a premium account, and those mass- and auto-posters gather all the stuff from other boards/hosters for you.

So filesharing turns into a porn-delivery service ...

Has it crossed any member's minds that sponsoring boards is the way business might be going in this area? If it IS - as it looks like, ALL boards will be required to ally themselves strongly with a particular download site. The strongest/those rising fastest, will be the ones who 'buy' boards/sites. I think we have to just accept that this is the way things are changing and embrace it as a new phase in the life of boards. There's probably very little we could do about it if we so chose.

And if I may say a small piece about 'filesharing': that happens very very little on boards such as this. In reality, the files are sold: uploaders are getting paid.
